Student´s Financial Aid

PPGLinC’s regular students may be awarded scholarships from Brazilian funding agencies (CAPES, FAPESB). The grant is valid for up to 24 months for the master's degree and 48 months for the PhD course. Granting will be based on the annual scholarship reserve registry which is established based on an internal notice for PPGLinC’s students. To rank scholarship applicants, the average of the sum of the three following criteria will be considered:

a. Technical opinion on the heteroidentification procedure which is  complementary to ethnic-racial self-declaration for black candidates; trans people self-declaration; and supporting documentation for indigenous people, quilombolas or individuals with disabilities. Score: 0 (zero) –for lack of proof– or 10 (ten) – for a valid document.

b. Proof of socioeconomic vulnerability. Score: 0 (zero) –for lack of proof– or 10 (ten) –for a valid document.

c. Final average from respective admission processes.

The Program generates two reservation registrations annually in accordance with our admission notices (editais de seleção): (i) for regular Brazilian and foreign students’ applications, and (ii) only for foreign students’ application (different admission criteria).

Scholarships will be distributed according to the availability of our funding agencies and the candidate's classification in the reservation registration.
For every 10 (ten) scholarships granted to regular students in the reservation registration, 1 (one) scholarship will be awarded to a student admitted through the foreign student notice.

Students may apply for any national or international notices published during the course.

During the master's and doctoral programs, students of PPGLinC can apply for financial aid  (Auxílio Financeiro a Estudante) to travel to national and international territories in order to participate in academic or scientific activities. The application is through internal calls and the resources come from PROAP (Programa de Apoio à Pós-Graduação). The purpose of this financial support is to promote consolidation, dissemination and visibility of research carried out at PPGLinC. Scholarship concessions are regulated by CAPES.
